Dear Ikea,

You make me so angry. I want a bed. I want to buy a base and a mattress. EVERY SINGLE TIME I go on your website my head hurts. I find a base, perfect. But your sizes seem to be different to everywhere else in the world. Then I have to choose a slate and then you give me 50 million choices for a mattress. I have no clue if I want a sprung mattress or a foam one. Then you show me prices, but it isn't until I adjust the size I get a price.

For these reasons please do not expect me to buy a bed from you.

Today's been good. I've done some things I've been meaning to do for ages - the main thing was taking my massive computer screen out of my room and swapping it for a much smaller one in the passage. Now my Dad can play Pinball in large screen, and now I can see more of my desk area <3

FYI, 2009 is rocking so far. Lots to say, lots of new stuff, but I neglected my room today and instead played Mario Kart loads, so to celebrate having more desk space I am putting my computer on again and seeing what gems I have hidden to watch whilst I finally put away all my Christmas presents and have a bit of a sort out.

120 Pro Palette Review

I bought the 120 pro palette from this seller on eBay. Despite being £1-£2 more than other sellers, this seller had a low number of negative feedback about the palette. In total it cost £15.96.

When it arrived I couldn't believe the palette was in the parcel - it was a massive parcel and arrived about a week after paying. It was wrapped in a ton of bubble wrap, both outside the palette box and the palette inside was also wrapped in bubble wrap.

Upon opening it I was disappointed to only find 60 colours. In the middle of writing a very strongly worded email I realised that the top colours lifted off. I was under the impression that the shadows were on each side - the lid and the bottom, as shown here (photo not mine). The top colours won't actually stay on the lid, which really annoyed me.

On the bottom two of the eye shadows were smashed to pieces. They weren't really colours I was desperate for, but I was still sad. I cannot seem to clean them either so bits of the eye shadow get everywhere. They were VERY well packaged so I cannot fault the packaging, it is just one of those things that happens. I haven't tried emailing the seller yet to ask about it.

Colour application is amazing. This was the first time I successfully did the Miley Cyrus look from her 7 Things music video - the smudged eye liner and black eyes look. The colour was applied at 11am and was still looking good wiping it off at 1am. The eye shadows are almost brittle to the touch though, so you have to be careful putting colour on the brush.

Overall I am pleased with it. Slightly disappointed about having to have the two layers of eye shadows on top of each other and not on the lid and bottom - I might try to rectify this with some glue though.

My Dad was working in our village today, which was vary rare. Talking to the old lady living in the bungalow (he is an electrician) the lady was talking about the loveliest woman she knew who worked in the paper shop, who was always smiling, the only kind person there, always sorting out paper bills when there were problems and all sorts. My Dad described my Mom to her, and the lady said "Yes, that was her".

I am so proud to have called her my mother <3

I've started making some Lush samples, and I have an idea for something for Christmas. I am hoping to get some opinions. As an incentive, everyone who replies will be entered into a random draw to win a sample set which looks like:

My idea is to create a "gift set" for Christmas. It will come in a box with 3 drawers in a variety of colours (white, purple and blue):

Inside this one there are 20 Lush samples, chocolates, candles, mirror, body puff, exfoliating gloves, pumice stone, nail set, tweezers, nail brush, candles, face mask, cucumber eye patches and nail polish remover wipes.

I'd just like some comments, but if you could also answer these questions, that would be fantastic!

I really need some eBay help – well more Royal Mail help.

A few weeks ago I posted something that fit into the normal letter. I know this because I got the lady at the counter to check, and I had roughly 10 of the same things to post – exactly the same items, all parcelled the same. I also send about 300 of these out a month – so I know they are a normal stamp. One of the 10 buyers stated that she had to go and collect the item and pay for extra postage – the extra was the £1 handling fee and the difference between a First Class stamp that I had placed onto the envelope and a Second Class Large Letter stamp. Because it was a one off, I was miffed, but sent the buyer the money and some extra goodies.

Now the other day I posted something to Antrim. It had a postcode so I knew it was in Northern Ireland. That coupled with the fact that the eBay invoice only charged the buyer for normal First Class made me confident that it was just a normal stamp. At the Post Office I asked the lady to check every single letter for me, as she knew about the previous problem. I was posting 9 at the time and she checked them all (not just one or two and then said they were okay, she did in fact check them all).

I get an email from the buyer yesterday saying that they had to pay £2.25 to collect the item. I let them know that I would look into it, explained the problem above, and asked them to give me a few days as I had family visiting today and I am off to London tomorrow.

My first question is, where is £2.25 from? The letter had 34p postage on already, take £1 from the £2.25 as a handling fee, leaves £1.59 in total postage. No letter, large letter or package costs £1.59. There is £1.57 for a large letter between 501-750g, but these items weigh about 20g, with packaging. I also checked the price in case it was Ireland, but even that has nothing for £1.59 postage. And just to cover the next base, IF the buyer meant that they had to pay £2.25 in total postage – so the money they paid me and then the money that they had to pay to collect the item, the difference isn’t even £1, so won’t even include the handling fee.

Where on earth do I go from here? I don’t mind giving the buyer a refund because I don’t want bad feedback, etc. But I want to get to the bottom of this and not just hand her money back.

My Dad is busy assembling my bed in his room -sob- I am sad to see my lovely King Size bed go, but I am glad it is in his room, as when I get ill I am going to go and lie in it and watch TV. Because I can. Who cares that I am 20, right? I am trapped as his old bed is by my door, so this led to me sorting out my room.

And being me, I have BEFORE and AFTER photos. Yes.

Messy, old and small desk.

Bed...it is just a bed really.

Whoo new.

The bed. Not very well made! But it is a new bed. It bugs me that it isn't centre of the wall, but I need that random black box there to rest my laptop on or use as a side table as most are too small to fit. And yes my DVDs are in alphabetical order after all the box sets.

Desk area is now where the old drawers were. Lots and lots of space - enough for my PC & laptop and space to pile things. It is super organised really. Plastic drawers underneath are full of crafty things, and that is only some of the crafty stuff I have. Oops. And Daisy by Marc Jacobs nearby to spray randomly when I feel like smelling pretty! Yes I have two :)

Notice board with random things - uni interview, car tax (boo) and other little bits. I hate this getting too crowded so clear it at least once a day.

To the left of my laptop - the drawers are seriously amazing, these ones have Benefit lip glosses (free with Glamour people - go and buy it), stamps, notes, address book, stapler and all those sorts of things. The vintage tin stores cool papers I've cut out and other little bits, and the giraffe is my 10p savings pot. And some really lovely postcards I got from TSUK years ago! My loose change pot and a lovely sand thing from my nephews gave me from Egypt.

Drawers, much nicer, no? LOADS of those plastic drawers on there for my make up. Record bowl with necklaces and some Lush samples that keep my room smelling lovely.

Bean bag of love! Seriously best place to sit and read or watch TV.

Wardrobe! So much bigger which is awesome <3 and I can actually open both doors which I never could with my last one due to stuff in front of it.

There are still lots of things to bring into my room from the garage which scares me slightly, so I will probably end up getting rid of a lot of things. I also need to set up my old Sky box in my room for ultimate viewing pleasure. I also decided not to have the Wii in my room as I could literally spend all my time in my room, and the lounge has a lot more space <3

This entry has taken me ages since I have had to do and help my Dad with the bed then we ordered take away! I started this two hours ago, oops. I love my room being tidy now as I feel motivated to fill in forms that I need to do and AQA more. My Dad and I are going over to my sister's tomorrow to watch my nephew get baptised which I am really excited about - I love love love seeing them all!

But finally...

The top was from Dorothy Perkins in the sale around Chrismas time and I adore it. Jeans are a bit too big actually, I desperately need to go jean shopping, perhaps before my interview on Friday. Being so short they always fray at the bottom. Sorry about the flash on my face.
